Editing and consulting for English manuscripts in progress
Poetry, CNF, fiction and hybrid forms, originally written in English. I offer in-line or more general narrative feedback, written and returned within a timeline we determine together. After booking, I’ll read an excerpt of your work, then we’ll chat by Google Meet or phone (30 minutes to an hour) so I can better understand where you’re at in your creative process and the direction of your project. This is collaborative, not right/wrong. My goal is to meet you where you are and move your project forward in a way that best suits your work and voice as a writer. From there, I will begin the editing and feedback process, and return by email. After you review feedback, we’ll book another Google Meet or phone call to discuss, clarify, and troubleshoot, as needed.
Rates are hourly or package/project based, and depend on the nature of your project. Please reach out for a personalized quote.
Editing and consulting for translations in progress
Poetry, CNF, fiction, and academic/informal writing, translated from any language into English. I offer in-line or more general narrative feedback, written and returned within a timeline we determine together. *If the original language is not Russian or Japanese, you will provide three works to me: original work, a literal translation (word for word), and your version. From there, we’ll book a Google Meet or phone call (30 minutes to an hour) to generally discuss your work, where you’re at, your challenges or concerns. This process is collaborative, and I may reach out by email with questions as I move through your manuscript. After I return your work, we’ll book a final Google Meet or phone call to discuss, clarify, and troubleshoot, as needed.

If your original language is not Russian or Japanese, there is a small additional charge as it takes longer for me to review languages I don’t fluently speak. All prices quoted are honored and agreed upon before I begin.
*As I am literate in Russian and Japanese, you can skip the literal translation submission and provide original work and your translation only.
Any language translated into Russian or Japanese
I currently only work in non-fiction, and academic or informational writing in Russian or Japanese. Poetry and fiction are often nuanced, cultural, non-literal, or metaphoric with devices that obscure meaning. As these are not my native languages, ensuring quality translation is best left to native or near-native and lifetime speakers. Someday, but not today. 🙂
